Remember today

Dear friends,

Remember today:

God's abounding Goodness and mercy that he pours on us every morning
His steadfast love and unchanging faithfulness even when we are unfaithful
All the wonders that he just creates to send a smile on our face
Good friends he sends along our path to walk alongside us for a while
His beautiful creation that serves no greater purpose than to make us laugh

God loves us and he smiles when he sees his children!

Dear Ladies,

Remember today:

You are created in the Image of God who is beautiful
Created as the crown of Creation, God's excessive masterpiece
Daughters of the Most High King he has made you-never forget that!
Never allow anyone to tell you that you are not beautiful
For you are loved, valued among the stars, most radiant among the nations

Dear Gentlemen,

Remember today:

To live worthy of the high calling you have received
Live as Men of God and Sons of the Most High King
Protect the widows and the orphans and treat all mankind with justice
Speak always the truth, even if it costs your live!
Clean your armor, draw the sword, mount your stallion-battle is near!

Dear Friends,

Remember today:

Praise him who made you and formed you from the dust
Adore him who has numbered the hairs on your head
Worship him who created the stars and still knows you by Name
Exalt him who reigns high above all the earth and still walks beside you
Love him who first loved you

Dante

This is not of much substance, and I don't have much time, but I thought I would quickly say:

I love reading Dante.

There is so much here. So much of what western humanity has done has been inspired by these pages that we are now blessed to read. I love that. I get the feeling that I am beginning to particiapte in humanity in a greater way. In reading the Comedy, we are also joining ourselves to the history that surrounds this text, and all of the works that have been built on its foundation.

If we are less real because when part of our existence becomes past "past" then it is a great thing to connect to the epochal influences of history. We increase our connection to humanity by relating closely to the works of the past. The amazing thing about the Comedy is the way it has influenced thought continually since it was written. Because of this, when we read Dante, we not only interact with the mind of one man, but all the minds that have touched this book since.

We are studying great things.
