Amazing lecture. Absolutely heart-rending. I hate it when its the kids who hurt.
I'm really bummed that I missed it... Stupid eveing classes.
Same here, Wren. Some of the stuff she showed made me absolutely sick. But I was thinking-- how amazing is it that God doesn't let His people be forgotten, no matter how isolated they are?
I loved her answer to Cody's question about what we can do to help. While such a lecture makes you itch to go our and do something, it really makes you trust God to lead you exactly where you're supposed to go in life.
It also got me to realize the importance of remembering my family around the world, and how much they need my prayers. Its ridiculous how much I forget that.
I also walked away wondering if I would be as strong as those children she mentioned. I really doubted it, until I realized that God is my strength, and He can withstand anything. I still can't imagine myself having the strength to stand up to such opression, but I do believe in His ability to carry me through.
